Our swimming pond is not only a refreshing bathing experience, but also a true natural paradise. The water is crystal-clear and our biological filter system ensures that it is of the highest quality.

The water reaches a pleasant temperature of 20°C in warm weather. Dive in and experience water fun without chlorine and other chemicals. Here you’ll find pure relaxation.

Montiggl swimming lake

Keen swimmer can really relax here in the lake surrounded by woods. Whether you want to zip down the longest water slide in South Tyrol at the Montiggl lido or prefer to settle down at one of the quiet spots by the shore, there is something for everyone here.

The Montiggl swimming lake has a large sunbathing area, a heated swimming pool, a pool bar and a restaurant with Italian and South Tyrolean specialities, as well as rowing boat rental.

Small Montiggl Lake

In the wonderful Montiggl forest with the large Montiggl Lake, you’ll also find a second swimming lake, the small Montiggl Lake. Visitors can swim, relax, go for gentle walks or take a boat ride here.

Swimming is permitted in both lakes at all times and provides a refreshing way to cool down. Whether you want to splash in the water or just experience the wonderful atmosphere by the shore, you’ll find the perfect place to take some time out in the heart of nature.

The warmest lake in the Alps

Lake Kalterer

Lake Kalterer is embedded in the vineyards on the wine road. It’s one of the largest lakes in South Tyrol and the warmest swimming lake in the Alps.

Bathing season from May to September
1.8 km long, 0.9 km wide and with a depth of 5.6 m at the deepest point

Leuchtenburg ruins

The legendary Leuchtenburg ruins rise up above the lake. The castle was built in the 13th century and was for a long time the home of the judge of Kaltern. Today, the ruins are a popular excursion destination and symbol of Lake Kalterer.

Lake Kalterer biotope

The reed area on the southern shore of Lake Kalterer is a Natura 2000 nature conservation area. This reed area lies at the fork of the most important bird flight routes. The area is therefore a place of rest and nesting for numerous rare birds and marsh creatures. Scientists have identified over 100 bird species.
